Faith

And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Immediately they left their nets and followed him. And going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and he called them. Immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him. And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people.

The date has been set, Aug. 28^th I will walk away from what I have done for a living for over 20 years. I have been called to go a different direction.  Faith it’s black and white to me, either I trust him or I don’t. I know what I have heard from my God, it is clear to me. I thank God every day that he has made it as clear to me as he has. Now it is time to go. The doors keep opening and we will continue to walk through them. Now all this doesn’t mean that we don’t have moments of pure terror with thoughts racing through our minds like “what are we thinking” or a real common thought of “are we really doing this”? He equips us in more ways than I ever imagined. He gave me a wife and a daughter who at moments when I am frozen and scared to take another step forward: they are there to encourage and pray with me. On the other side of that when they are frozen and scared I am there to encourage and pray with them. Yes, we have moments of panic and these are the moments our faith is being tested. Do I trust him or not. Yes I trust him, I will go where he wants me to go.

Peru House Pictures

Many have asked what the house in Peru looks like and what needs to be done. So I am posting pictures with some notes to help y'all visualize things better.

Jungle news

Many of you have asked "how can we help" well here is one way. As most

of you know I spent some time in Peru researching what living

arrangements would look like for our family while living in Peru for

the next two years. I looked at several rental units that I did not

think would fit the bill and also found that rent was going to be a

lot higher than I had originally thought. Another option that we had

was a house that our director in Peru, Lucho owned that is in the

process of being built and not complete at this time  When I returned

home and talked to Tom Clark the director of Junglemaster about the

house he told me that Lucho was wanting to sell the house to us and we

both decided that it would probably be a good investment. We now own a

house in Nauta that needs to be completed. How much does a house in

Nauta, Peru cost you may ask? $13,000.00 would be the answer.

Junglemaster has been wanting to purchase a house in Nauta for quite

some time this purchase affords Junglemaster many benefits the first

being a rent free house for me and my family to live in for two years.

Secondly as I stated before this house is not complete yet so this

means we can complete it closer to North American standards (electric

fans, screened in for bug protection things of that nature) Also this

house can be set up for a resting place for short term teams heading

into the jungle, and also this will be a place we can have secure

storage of all our gear we need for short term mission trips. We also

are going to need some funds to help with finishing the house. Me and

Lucho roughed out finishing the house at around $6000.00 The house has

side walls and a nice roof and me and Amy are willing to go down and

live in it in tents as we finish the house. The only thing that we

would like to really be done before we live in the house is a place

for Amy to cook and the toilet to be working. We ask that you might

prayerfully consider donating to help us with this project.

Question us...that's right, question us. We are asking you to ask us questions about our decisions and our motives and our plans. We want to know just exactly what it is that you would like to find out about our family, our journey, our mission, and our beliefs. Joel and I are planning on doing a video that explains things about what our family is getting up to in the next few years. We want to be able to explain and make very clear our passion and our vision in our journey. But, to do that we need your help. We need you to think about what kinds of questions you would want answered if you were to sit down with us and talk about what we want to do. What do you want to know, what information would you want imparted to you so that you could fully understand what we are doing, how to pray for us and how to give us love and support throughout this journey.  NO QUESTION IS TOO SMALL! In asking us questions and helping us to know what others want to hear you will be allowing God to speak through us to others and help us reach out. Please give us this chance to continue to bring each of you along with us and involve you all as much as we can in our journey. We can't do this without each of you!
